Leading the Way in the People’s Parade
Our Co-op Young Leaders were proud to take centre stage in the People’s Parade for Stoke’s Centenary—an event that brought communities across the city together in a joyful celebration of local pride and history.
We were honoured to lead the Tunstall section of the parade, walking alongside a stunning replica of the Tunstall Clock, created by talented local artists. This symbolic centrepiece was beautifully decorated with flowers designed and crafted by our students, each representing the 55 countries that make up our Academy community.
The preparation was just as meaningful as the day itself. In advance of the event, students worked with professional artists to bring their designs to life—an inspiring process that celebrated creativity, culture, and collaboration.
We also loved meeting up with other students from our Academy, who were involved in the parade through their dance clubs, Scouts, and other community groups. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces taking part in different ways, each contributing to the rich tapestry of the day.
This was more than just a parade—it was a powerful expression of who we are as a community: proud of our roots, proud of our diversity, and proud to be part of Stoke’s story.
A huge thank you to Stoke Creates for making this opportunity possible and for the amazing work they did with our students. And a heartfelt thank you to our Co-op Young Leaders, who gave up their weekend to represent our Academy with pride. You were exceptional.
