Year 8s Develop Key Skills with Barclays Life Skills Programme
This term, all of our Year 8 students are engaged in the Barclays Life Skills programme, a fantastic initiative designed to equip young people with essential skills for life beyond school.
The programme covers a wide range of important topics, including money management, effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Through a series of interactive workshops and activities, students are learning how to navigate real-life situations with confidence and independence.
One of the highlights has been seeing students step up to present their ideas and solutions to their peers—building not only their knowledge but also their confidence and public speaking skills. It’s been wonderful to watch them embrace these challenges with enthusiasm and maturity.
The Barclays Life Skills programme aligns closely with our commitment to preparing students for the future, encouraging students to develop qualities like responsibility, collaboration, and self-belief—reflecting the Co-op Ways of Being that underpin everything we do.
We look forward to seeing how these new skills will support our students as they continue their journey through education and beyond.
