Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent Hosts Inaugural Model UN Conference

We were incredibly proud to host and run the inaugural Co-op Academies Trust Model UN Conference right here at Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent. This landmark event brought together our Year 9 students and participants from Co-op Academy Belle Vue for a day of engaging global diplomacy.

Our students took on the challenging roles of representing various nations, including Syria, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and the USA. The conference floor buzzed with fantastic speeches, lively debates, and strategic caucus sessions, as our delegates navigated complex international issues.

"I was so impressed by the level of research and confidence our students displayed," commented Ms. Williamson, Assistant Headteacher. "They truly embraced the spirit of Model UN, demonstrating critical thinking and persuasive communication skills. It's inspiring to see our young people engage with global challenges in such a meaningful way."

The conference provided an invaluable opportunity for our students to develop their public speaking, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. We are already looking forward to growing this fantastic initiative next year, building on the success of this pioneering event.
