Year 9s REACH for Employability Success

Last week, a celebration event was held to acknowledge the accomplishments of our Year 9 students from Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent, amongst other academies, who participated in the Co-op Academies Trust's REACH project. This initiative, which is implemented across the Trust, aims to support students in developing key employability skills.
A significant component of the programme included mentoring sessions provided by Balfour Beatty. These interactions allowed students to gain insights into professional environments and discuss potential career paths with industry representatives.
The project also incorporated three site visits, offering students practical exposure to different workplaces. These visits were designed to help them understand how skills are applied in a professional setting.
Our participating Year 9s all attained AQA Employability Skills qualifications. These qualifications provide a formal recognition of the skills and knowledge they developed throughout the project.
We commend all Year 9 students from Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent for their engagement and effort in the REACH project. Their participation underscores a commitment to personal and professional development. We also extend our thanks to Balfour Beatty for their support in providing this opportunity to our students.
