A Credit to the Academy: Year 11 Impress at Salford Quays

Our Year 11 Geography students recently spent the day at Media City, Salford Quays, swapping their desks for the waterfront to see urban regeneration in action. While the trip was an essential part of their fieldwork, the real story of the day wasn’t just the data they collected, but the incredible impression they left on the local community.
The group spent the day fully immersed in the environment, and their conduct didn't go unnoticed. A woman who works for the BBC approached the staff specifically to say she had never encountered such a polite and well-spoken group of students. She meets school trips regularly in her line of work, yet she was so struck by their manners and the quality of their questions that she went out of her way to make sure her feedback reached the school. To hear that our pupils were the most impressive she has ever engaged with at the Quays is a massive win for the Year 11s.
The students were focused, sharp, and genuinely interested in the geography of the area, staying on task from start to finish. They represented the Academy perfectly, and they should be very proud of the reputation they’ve built for themselves.
