Our First Academy Family Iftar

This week, we held our very first Family Iftar in the school canteen, and it was a truly wonderful evening. With Ramadan currently underway, we wanted to create an opportunity for our families and staff to come together and celebrate the incredible diversity that makes our Academy so special.

The atmosphere was fantastic as the sun began to set. It was a moving moment to see those who were fasting break their fast together before everyone enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by our own kitchen team. Our Co-op Young Leaders (CYLs) were absolute stars, hosting the event with such maturity and making sure all our guests felt welcome as they served the food.

Seeing so many people from different backgrounds and faiths sharing a table and a conversation is exactly what our school is all about. We are such a diverse community, and events like this really strengthen the bonds between us all.

Assistant Headteacher, Ms. Williamson, reflected on the success of the evening:

"Hosting our first Family Iftar was such a proud moment for the Academy. We are such a diverse community, and seeing everyone come together to celebrate in this way was genuinely special. Our Co-op Young Leaders were fantastic ambassadors, and the feedback from families has been heart-warming. It was a perfect example of our community spirit in action."

A huge thank you to our kitchen staff for the brilliant food, our CYLs for their hard work, and every family who joined us to make this first Iftar so memorable.
