Street Food Success for Year 10 Cookery Students

Our Year 10 cookery students recently headed over to the New Farm Cookery School in Burton-upon-Trent for an immersive Street Food Experience. It was a brilliant opportunity for them to step out of the classroom and work under the expert guidance of professional chefs in a high-quality kitchen environment.
Throughout the day, the students mastered a range of diverse global techniques. They worked on everything from delicate Vietnamese Fresh Rolls and savoury Moroccan Briwats to hand-rolled Sushi. It was great to see them getting stuck into these complex recipes and picking up new skills that go beyond their usual curriculum.
The day ended with a high-stakes finale where the groups, led by their own student "Head Chefs," had to present their creations for professional judging. The pressure was on, but the teamwork on display was fantastic. A huge congratulations goes to our winners who took home the coveted wooden spoons for their efforts.
It was an excellent day of hands-on learning and a great way for the students to see where their culinary skills could take them in the future. Their focus and professional attitude throughout the session were a real credit to the Academy.
Well done to all the Year 10s involved for representing us so well and showing such impressive kitchen talent.
