This incredible chance came after Ahmed's successful completion of First Story's writing programme. As a participant, Ahmed showed self-help, dedicating himself to weekly sessions led by professional author Mark Gwynne Jones. This hard work paid off when his writing was professionally published in an anthology alongside other students from the Co-op Academy, showcasing his talent and social responsibility to his peers.

The Young Writers' Residential was a week-long, fully funded programme hosted by Arvon at their writing centre in West Yorkshire. It was designed to help young writers develop their confidence and creativity. The programme included workshops and one-on-one tutorials with experienced writers.

Ms Corbally, our Library Manager, said, "We are all so proud of Ahmed's achievement. He has shown such commitment and a true passion for writing. This was a brilliant opportunity for him to build his skills and become an even more confident young person."
