Celebrating Our Attendance Superstars!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the fantastic start to the year for our students' attendance! Consistency truly is the key to success, and we're seeing some amazing commitment across the school.

A huge congratulations to our 137 Year 7 students who have achieved a phenomenal 6-week 100% attendance streak and have received their first official attendance badge! What an achievement! Older year groups will receive their streak badges after half term. Now the challenge is set: Who among our students will continue their incredible streak next half term and earn the coveted second badge?

This focus on attendance isn't just about streaks and badges—it's about maximising every child's potential. Every single day in school counts towards a student's long-term success.

Here are a couple of powerful statistics to remind us all of the importance of being in school:

  • Missing just 10% of school (about 18 days per year) significantly impacts academic performance. Students with near-perfect attendance in Year 11 are almost twice as likely to achieve Grade 5 or above in English and Maths GCSEs, compared to similar pupils attending 90-95% of the time.

  • The impact is long-term, too. Pupils who are persistently absent in secondary school could earn £10,000 less at age 28 compared to peers with near-perfect attendance.

We are so proud of the commitment our students and families are making to ensure every day counts. Let's make the next half term our best yet!
