Cooking Up a Storm: Our Co-op Culinary Contestants!

The kitchen was buzzing recently as we held our school finals for the Co-op Culinary Competition. Our fantastic pairs of budding chefs stepped up to the plate to see who would represent the Academy in the next stage.

The challenge was a real test of creativity: students were handed a mystery bag of ingredients and told to get cooking! The results were honestly wow moments for everyone watching. From perfectly seasoned dough balls to gourmet sandwiches and professionally topped pizzas, the standard was incredibly high.

After much deliberation from our thrilled judges, Amelia and Jade were crowned the winners. Their creation, a stunning and delicious heart-shaped pizza, really stole the show and proved that they have both the skills and the creative flair to go all the way.

While Amelia and Jade took the top spot, every single student who took part was amazing. The focus and passion they showed throughout the final were a real credit to the Academy. We also want to say a huge thank you to Ms Hewitt for her hard work in organising the competition and supporting our talented chefs throughout the process.

Amelia and Jade are now through to the grand finals at Angel Square in Manchester. We have got our fingers firmly crossed that they can follow in the footsteps of our previous champions, Halimah and Hooria, and bring home the overall trophy.

Assistant Headteacher, Ms. Williamson, added:

"It was a joy to watch our students in action. The mystery bag challenge is never easy, but the way they stayed calm and produced such high quality food was brilliant. Amelia and Jade's heart-shaped pizza was a standout, and we are all rooting for them as they head to Angel Square. They are already winners in our eyes!"
