Future Ready: Year 10 Explore Career Paths at Apprenticeship Expo

As part of National Apprenticeships Week, our Year 10 students visited the bet365 Stadium recently for an inspiring day at the Apprenticeship Expo. With their own work experience placements just around the corner, the trip was a perfectly timed opportunity for them to see how their current studies link directly to their future careers.
The students spent the morning engaging with a wide range of local employers and training providers, exploring industries they might not have previously considered. It was a chance to move beyond the classroom and get stuck into the practicalities of entry requirements and daily professional life. This kind of hands-on exploration is a vital part of our careers programme, helping students turn their interests into a clear plan for the future.
Ms Williamson, our Careers Leader, spoke highly of the event's impact, saying: "Seeing our Year 10s take ownership of their future pathways like this is exactly what we aim for. Their conduct at the stadium was excellent, and the insight they’ve gained will be invaluable as they prepare for their upcoming work experience. It’s clear they are starting to see the wealth of opportunities available to them once they leave the Academy."
By the end of the day, many students left with a much clearer vision of where they want to go next. They represented us with real maturity and showed that they are ready to start thinking seriously about their role in the local workforce.
