Pride in Our Work

There is honestly nothing better than seeing a student’s face light up when they get to show off something they’ve worked hard on. This week, we held our "PRIDE in my work" table, and it was easily one of the best days we’ve had this term.

The idea is simple: students bring along a piece of work they are genuinely proud of to share it with a member of staff. We had a steady stream of students coming down to meet with their Heads of Year and Mr. Richardson to talk through what they’ve been learning. From beautifully presented essays to complex science diagrams, the standard was fantastic. It was a real privilege to see the care they are taking with their books and to hand out well-earned praise postcards to mark the occasion.

These sessions are a massive part of our rewards strategy at the Academy, but more than that, they’re a reminder of the brilliant things happening in our classrooms every day. Seeing the students take such ownership of their progress is exactly what we’re all about, and we’re already looking forward to the next one.
