REACHing for Success!
Our Year 9 students have been making great strides in their professional development through the REACH programme, which is an initiative unique to the Co-op Academies Trust. This programme is a key part of our careers provision, helping students bridge the gap between the classroom and the world of work.
Last week, the group headed out for their second site visit to Balfour Beatty. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to step onto a professional site and learn more about the specific skills required in a modern workplace. From teamwork and communication to technical problem-solving, seeing these skills in action provided a real-world context that is hard to replicate in school.
The students are currently working hard towards their employability certificates from AQA. These qualifications are a brilliant way for them to formalise the skills they are developing and will give them a head start when they begin applying for college or future roles.
It was wonderful to see our Year 9s engaging so professionally with the team at Balfour Beatty. They are proving themselves to be focused, ambitious, and ready to take on the challenges of their future careers. We are very proud of the progress they are making on this unique journey.
