Year 7 Football Tournament

What an absolutely fantastic afternoon for the Year 7 football tournament! Over half the year group participated, bringing incredible energy and showcasing brilliant teamwork. Students took charge, forming their own teams and even designing unique logos, which were expertly printed by the Technology department—a huge thank you to them! As a memento of their participation, all students get to keep their football tops. And yes, everyone got an ice cream, too!

The competition was fierce but friendly, with tension mounting through the group stages and into the finals. A massive congratulations go to The Lion Cubs, who emerged victorious in the girls' final, and to Chicken Tender Defenders, who claimed the win in the boys' final!

This tournament was a brilliant display of co-operation, one of our key school values. Mr. Richardson, our Headteacher, perfectly captured the spirit of the event:

"Everyone taking part today should be incredibly proud of themselves. You have shown a real commitment to 'Doing What Matters Most' and embracing the opportunity to work with your teammates to achieve a collective goal. Co-operation is one of our key values and this tournament represents that being lived in what will be a fantastic sporting event contested in the right way. This afternoon's tournament is all about fierce competition but also demonstrating great sportsmanship."

A huge thank you to everyone who made this wonderful afternoon possible: the PE department, the Year Manager team, and the entire Year 7 team. We also extend our sincere gratitude to our match officials and referees, all Year 9 students, who showed incredible maturity and professionalism throughout the tournament. The event truly highlighted how fierce competition can go hand-in-hand with excellent sportsmanship and collaborative effort. Well done to all who participated!
