Year 7's Fantastic Start

What a fantastic first day it has been for our new Year 7 students! Today we had the pleasure of welcoming them for their first day of secondary school, and we couldn't be more proud of how they've started their journey with us.

From the moment they arrived, our Year 7s have shown us exactly what it means to be part of our community. They have been demonstrating the Ways of Being Co-op with confidence and enthusiasm.

We've seen them Show they Care by being incredibly polite, smiling, and making an effort to get to know their new classmates and teachers.

Throughout the day, they have also shown us that they Do What Matters Most by focusing on their new routines and settling into their lessons. Their ability to adapt and their positive attitude have been brilliant to see. We've already given out so many Recognition Cards to celebrate their efforts.

"It was wonderful to officially welcome our Y7 students into the Academy today," said Mrs Davies, Assistant Headteacher and Transition Lead. "They earned a huge number of Recognition cards from staff, throughout the day, for their excellent manners, superb participation and impeccable uniform. We can't wait to welcome them again tomorrow and hope to see as many students, as possible, at our free Breakfast Club before school starts."

Their proud Head of Year, Mr Asplin, added: "Year 7 had a fantastic start to their school year today. A significant number of them received praise for how well-mannered, respectful and kind they were. We are expectant and excited to see the progress they are going to make as the year goes on both academically and personally, as we watch them grow into mature and considerate young people."

We are so impressed with our newest students and are looking forward to seeing them back tomorrow, when they will be joined by the rest of the school community. This is just the beginning of what we know will be a very successful and fulfilling school year for them all.
