Year 9 Engineers Get Hands-On

Over 140 of our Year 9 students had a fantastic and highly engaging day recently, taking part in engineering workshops run by The Industry Learning Group (TILG). The energy and involvement from the students were palpable, with many getting completely absorbed in the practical challenges and activities.

These immersive workshops offered invaluable work-related learning, bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. Students learned first-hand about the exciting possibilities within the labour market and gained insight into a wide array of STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Ms Williamson, Assistant Headteacher and Careers Leader, shared her enthusiasm for the initiative: "It was fantastic to see how involved our students got. These workshops are so crucial for showing them the real-world possibilities that come with STEM. They're not just learning about concepts; they're seeing the careers and opportunities that exist right now in the labour market."

The event was a huge success, sparking curiosity and providing practical experience that will undoubtedly influence our students' future subject and career choices. We look forward to more collaborative events with TILG to inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators!
