We were delighted to welcome back our returning Year 11 students for a special Certificate Evening, celebrating their record-breaking achievements. This cohort made history as the highest-performing year group in a non-selective school in Stoke-on-Trent, a testament to their hard work, resilience, and determination.
Students in Years 7 and 8 at Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent were treated to a fantastic live performance from Joel Foster, a talented up-and-coming artist from Burton-Upon-Trent. The event wasn’t just about great music—it also carried an important message about healthy relationships, bullying, and mental health, followed by an engaging Q&A session where students had the chance to ask questions and hear Joel’s personal experiences.
Over the Christmas break, Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent’s Science teacher, Mr Haywood, led his team to victory in the Only Connect Champion of Champions special. Known as one of the UK’s trickiest quiz shows, Only Connect challenges contestants to find connections between seemingly unrelated clues, requiring both teamwork and lightning-fast thinking.

Before Christmas, a group of Year 9 girls from Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent completed the InnovateHer Programme, a six-week initiative designed to inspire young women to explore careers in technology and STEM.

On the final day of term, Year 11 students came together for a special Mock Results Afternoon to reflect on their hard work and achievements. With snacks and festive touches setting the scene, the event marked a celebratory moment after weeks of dedication and effort.
On the penultimate day of term, 20 students from each KS3 year group were treated to a Festive Afternoon Tea, hosted by Ms Williamson. Selected by their tutors or Heads of Year, these students were recognised for their hard work, positive attitudes, and for consistently going above and beyond in their daily school life.

What a night! Our Christmas Fair was a resounding success, bringing together parents, families, and members of our community for an evening filled with festive cheer. With Santa’s Grotto, games, stalls, and activities, there was something for everyone to enjoy. We were also thrilled to welcome our community partners who joined us for the event.

On Friday 29 November 2024, the talented cast of The Lion King from Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent had the honour of performing at the opening of the Co-op Academies Trust Recognition Awards, in front of almost 300 attendees.
Students from Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent recently took part in their first visit as part of the REACH Programme, heading to Balfour Beatty’s HS2 office for an engaging day of hands-on learning.
