What a truly special and emotional afternoon we had celebrating our incredible Year 11 students at their Leavers' Assembly. The atmosphere was a beautiful mix of laughter, tears, and overwhelming pride as we gathered to say a temporary goodbye to the Class of 2025.
The Co-op Academies Trust Culinary Competition took place at Angel Square and what a fantastic experience we had.
All ten of our Year 8 tutor groups recently completed the First Give programme – a social action and charity-focused project designed to help young people understand the power they have to make a difference in their communities.
Earlier this month, a group of our students returned from an unforgettable visit to Japan, funded by the Turing Scheme with additional support from the Academy – ensuring the trip was completely free of charge for the students involved.
Year 10 Life Skills students visited Newcastle College, part of NSCG, in preparation for submitting applications next term. The students who attended were exemplary and took advantage of being able to ask lots of questions. The students said "It was interesting. It helped our understanding of what we would like to do after school."
This was a lovely opportunity for our students to see the facilities, support, and the courses on offer at the college. They loved the open spaces and the inviting atmosphere, as well as some of the course opportunities available. This is the first of several visits, and will make the prospect of their next steps a lot less daunting for our students.
Mrs Canning, the trip lead and class teacher, reflected on the students' fantastic attitude during the visit, saying "I was really proud to see them speaking so confidently to college staff".

This week, our Academy came together to celebrate Stoke’s Centenary with a fantastic range of activities that showcased our students’ creativity, teamwork, and community pride.
This term, all of our Year 8 students are engaged in the Barclays Life Skills programme, a fantastic initiative designed to equip young people with essential skills for life beyond school.
As part of the Stoke Centenary celebrations, a group of our students took part in a creative writing workshop at Keele University, exploring the city’s heritage through fiction and imagination.
Our Co-op Young Leaders were proud to take centre stage in the People’s Parade for Stoke’s Centenary—an event that brought communities across the city together in a joyful celebration of local pride and history.
As part of our celebrations for Stoke’s Centenary, the whole Academy took part in a special vote to decide our very own ‘Top Stokie’—a fun and meaningful way to honour the city's rich history and local pride.
