This week, our Academy came together to celebrate Stoke’s Centenary with a fantastic range of activities that showcased our students’ creativity, teamwork, and community pride.
This term, all of our Year 8 students are engaged in the Barclays Life Skills programme, a fantastic initiative designed to equip young people with essential skills for life beyond school.
As part of the Stoke Centenary celebrations, a group of our students took part in a creative writing workshop at Keele University, exploring the city’s heritage through fiction and imagination.
Our Co-op Young Leaders were proud to take centre stage in the People’s Parade for Stoke’s Centenary—an event that brought communities across the city together in a joyful celebration of local pride and history.
As part of our celebrations for Stoke’s Centenary, the whole Academy took part in a special vote to decide our very own ‘Top Stokie’—a fun and meaningful way to honour the city's rich history and local pride.
To mark Stoke’s Centenary, we were delighted to host a free Family Meal for our school community. It was brilliant to welcome so many families into the Academy for an evening of celebration and togetherness
We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Head Prefects and Deputy Head Prefects for the upcoming academic year. After an incredibly competitive selection process, we are proud to congratulate Kareem and Ramat, along with Deputy Head Prefects Shyo and Charlotte.
Our Scholars became time travellers for the day as they visited the Black Country Living Museum. This living museum is a fantastic place to learn about the history of the Black Country, one of the UK’s most important industrial regions, and how people lived and worked throughout the 19th century and first part of the 20th.

Mr Richardson gave away two Headteacher’s Achievement Awards today, with our students’ fantastic accomplishments making it too hard to decide on just one.
Throughout March, students took part in our design competition to mark Women’s History Month. They were asked to come up with a poster or factfile about a female figure who has inspired them. We were blown away by the quality of the entries, with students choosing a hugely diverse range of fantastic female role models. We are proud to display a number of the entries on the Academy’s main street.
